This
is Curt, and I am going to write my own profile because I know
my story best. In July of 1949, I was born into a family of musicians
- and was influenced by a wide variety of music styles from very
early on. My parents exposed me to the best in Classical, Big
Band, Jazz, Sinatra, Broadway and more. I took lessons on several
different music instruments from childhood, but was most inspired
as I approached my teens and turned my attention to what was on
AM radio. When the Surf Music craze hit, I picked up a guitar
and started a band with my best friend on bass. We then recruited
other good friends to play drums and rhythm guitar. At first,
we played the best songs by our favorite artists - but, before
long, I began writing original songs. Then, when The Beatles hit,
I was totally hooked I knew right away that I was born to write
and play songs in a Rock band. My music evolved with the 1960's
and steadily progressed throughout the1970's when FM radio ruled.
The "brass ring" finally came in 1977 with an album released by
Mercury Records - then another album was released in 1978 by 20th
Century Fox Records (along with various singles) for my band at
the time HERO.
Since
then, I have played in several other bands and just keep writing
and recording songs. I always pay attention to what is going on
in contempory music. Although there are some great new artists,
I have been largely disappointed with most of the music scene
these days (the quality of the songs and musicianship often leaves
a lot to be desired). For the past several years, I have been
planning and building MusicAmaze (with my brother and father)
while honing my skills at producing records. Also, I have been
networking with talented musicians and technicians that can help
to achieve a great sounding and impressive looking finished product.
My intention is to write inspired songs and capture amazing performances
on record - then craft the "definitive mix". If I accomplish that
- and release some great albums - then I am doing what I was put
here to do.
